The latest addition to Phoenicia Trading A.A.’s Regional Edition line, the Diplomaticos Genios Phoenicia Edicion Regional , is set to go on sale on March 1. This new cigar was unveiled at a private event held at the Packard Hotel in Cuba. Measuring 5 1/2 inches long with a 52 ring gauge, this straight-sided cigar is produced in limited quantities. A total of 4,000 cabinets, each containing 50 cigars, will be available, marking a rare packaging format for the brand. Each box will be individually numbered, with a total production of 200,000 cigars.

The release of the Diplomaticos Genios Phoenicia Edicion Regional commemorates the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cyprus, where Phoenicia is based, and Cuba. Notably, this is the first time the Diplomaticos brand has been offered in a 50-count cabinet. The Genios size, which debuted with the Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios in 2007, is also featured in the H. Upmann Connoisseur A. Phoenicia is a key player in the global distribution of Cuban cigars, supplying products to around 60 countries, including regions in the Middle East, parts of Europe, and much of Africa.

The Edición Regional program, managed by Habanos S.A., allows distributors to select one custom cigar each year from brands that are not part of the company’s “Global Brands.” The cigars are distinguished by a red and silver band indicating their Regional Edition status as seen in the Diplomaticos Genios Phoenicia Edicion Regional. Typically, these cigars may not reach all retail stores in the same year they are selected but few retailers and whole salers like La Casa De Cubano, and sometimes the release can be delayed even further.

For pricing, each Diplomaticos Genios Phoenicia Edicion Regional cigar has an MSRP of €29 ($30.40), while a box of 50 is priced at €1,450 ($1,520) Beginning March 1st.
